South Kent Counselling & Psychotherapy

Helping you to find private counselling and psychotherapy in Kent

If you are thinking about having therapy, it is often quite difficult to know how to find a therapist. As a starting point, the therapist needs to have trained and qualified with a credible organisation. They should be accredited or registered with an established and recognised regulatory body and adhere to the professional standards and codes of practice of that organisation.

Formed in 2011, South Kent Counselling & Psychotherapy (SKCP) is an informational tool and therapeutic directory representing a community of independent practitioners offering their various therapeutic services. All therapists featured on this website are highly trained, qualified, and experienced practitioners with varying backgrounds, including clinical work in the NHS and private practice.

All featured therapists have undergone rigorous trainings which demanded extensive supervised clinical work and in-depth self-reflection through lengthy personal therapy.

All featured practitioners undertake continuing professional development and are registered with and follow the ethical principles of one or more of the major registering bodies: The British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC).

Featured practitioners work from their own private consulting rooms and are based in the following locations: St. Margaret’s-At-Cliffe CT15; Folkestone CT20; Hythe CT21. Alongside working in person, some of our featured practitioners can also offer remote therapy.
